If you’ve experienced the common signs of facial aging such as drooping skin or volume loss in the lower or mid face, you may be a candidate for the Y Lift. The Y Lift is a minimally invasive facial contouring procedure, designed to add volume and lift to the cheekbone and under eye areas, give definition to the chin and jawline, and contour the upper neck. It is also effective in treating wrinkles and lines around the mouth.
The Y Lift uses a small needle to inject filler material into strategic points in the face. This innovative procedure uses the same tried-and-tested dermal fillers that are commonly used for other injectable procedures. The difference is in the way that the filler is injected and the specific points of injection.
The Y Lift got its name from the double Y-shaped pattern it follows in order to create symmetry and structure in the mid-face along the cheekbones, and between the chin and outer angles of the jaw. The Y Lift’s special injection technique allows us to place the filler material deep into the skin, targeting specific areas of the face for lifting and contouring. This technique is performed with cannulas, which are blunt tipped, flexible devices that feed the filler under the muscle, directly on top of the bone, to replicate the structure that the bone itself produces naturally. This technique results in a more natural-looking lift, without the risk of over-filling or creating an “overdone” look.
