Sculpt Your Dream Body with CoolTone: The Non-Invasive Muscle Toning Treatment
Learn how to manage fall allergies with tips on prevention, treatment, and common triggers like mold, ragweed, and dust.
Morpheus8 is a safe, effective, and non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting.
While this article spells out the benefits of Morpheus8, and we highly recommend you read the full article, here are the key points we will focus on:
With age, skin can lose its elasticity, leading to wrinkles, lines, and sagging. Using targeted radiofrequency (RF) energy to remodel and rebuild collagen, Morpehus8 can be used to treat skin concerns on both the face and body, including the abdomen, legs, buttocks, arms, hands, jowls, chest, and neck. The resulting effect is plumper, firmer, tighter, and smoother skin in as few as 1 to 2 sessions.
In addition to skin tightening, the Morpheus8 is FDA approved as a Subdermal Adipose Remodeling Device(SARD) and is the first and only device to diminish fat in delicate areas. It is great for melting away extra fat underneath the chin and can even target larger areas such as cellulite on the thighs and buttock. Postpartum abdominal laxity is another area that the Morpheous8 can improve–similar to a “mommy make-over” without the surgical downtime!
The effects of Morpheus8 combines two clinically proven treatments–microneedling and minimally invasive radiofrequency treatment–to trigger collagen and elastin production, tighten fibers and contour fat. While ordinary microneedling can only target skin to a depth of 1.5 to 2 millimeters, the Morpheus8 is tailored to each patient’s needs and the depths can be adjusted anywhere from 0.5mm to as deep as 8mm. This allows fat contouring at deeper depths while superficial depths target skin rejuvenation. Morpheus8 can treat the entire face and neck in one treatment, from delicate tissue around the eye to thicker skin around the neck and jawline. This results in firm, radiant skin.
With the Morpheus8, topical numbing usually does the trick to limit the discomfort. However, if needed, we do have other options for pain control that you can discuss with your provider. On average, the treatment takes only 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete, reliant on the size of the treated area.
Before your treatment, local anesthetic cream will be applied to cleansed skin for 30 to 45 minutes. This is to minimize discomfort during the treatment process. During the procedure, a handheld device is pressed into the specified area of the skin, allowing microneedles to perforate the skin. Once the microneedles are in place, they generate radiofrequency (RF) waves to penetrate deep into the dermal layer. Since the needles are tiny, most patients tolerate the procedure well. This simple, safe treatment delivers excellent results for all skin types. You can expect mild redness and swelling immediately post procedure which tends to subside within 2-3 days. Results are generally seen a month after treatment with continued improvement over time and with subsequent Morpheus8 treatments.
Morpheus8 allows you to experience the benefits of a facelift without the need for surgery. It is the perfect treatment for patients looking for gradual, scarless skin correction. This advanced microneedling treatment penetrates deep into the skin and fat to rejuvenate aging facial features.
The main benefits of Morpheus8 include:
Morpheus8 introduces a new way to build collagen in the face. After the age of 20, the dermis layer produces 1% less collagen each year. Morpheus8 induces collagen production, resulting in firmer, fuller, and younger-looking skin.
Morpheus8 can be extremely effective treatment for acne. The treatment can shrink or shut down the oil glands under the skin, preventing excess skin oil production that leads to acne. It can also treat acne and acne scars that form after your acne has healed, reducing the appearance of acne scars by up to 50% and smoothing out the skin’s overall texture.
Morpheus8 treatment is a non-invasive procedure so there is little need for downtime or recovery. Immediately after your treatment, you will look and feel like you have a moderate sunburn, and your skin may feel warmer or tighter than usual. To aid the healing process, avoid exercising or strenuous activity for 24 hours post-treatment and do not apply makeup until 48 hours after the procedure. Throughout this time, reapply sunscreen and avoid intentional or direct sunlight. You can resume work or normal activities directly following treatment.
Following your treatment, use a soothing cleanser or face wash with lukewarm water to wash your face and follow up with a gentle moisturizer or healing ointment. If you choose to go outside, apply a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen to protect your skin. Makeup can be applied two days following your treatment.
Morpheus8 is suitable for most healthy men and women looking to reduce signs of aging without going under the knife. It is also suitable for all skin types, whether you have dry, normal, oily, or sensitive skin. Common complaints that can be addressed with Morpheus8 include neck and chin fullness, rough skin texture, large pores, acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, and loose skin. To qualify for Morpheus8 treatment, an individual must be in good general health.
While every patient’s skin is unique, Morpheus8 results can be seen in as few as 3 days with the most noticeable results appearing after 1 month. You may continue to see improvements months after treatment as it takes collagen up to 6 months to fully form. For best results, dermatologists recommend three treatments spaced out 4 to 6 weeks apart, although there is no upper limit on how many treatments you can have. Skin-tightening results can last on average 2 to 5 years.
One of the many benefits of Morpheus8 is that the treatment has minimal side effects. Most often, patients experience some redness, pinpoint bleeding, mild bruising, and swelling in the first 24 hours. Some patients have reported bumps or grid marks. Most symptoms resolve within 24 to 72 hours following treatment. During the healing process, it is important to prevent touching or picking at your skin to prevent skin damage and scarring. To allow proper recovery time, many clients also choose to come in Thursday evening or Friday to relax over the weekend. By Monday, their skin has normalized and they are ready to resume their normal activities!
Morpheus8 results are permanent, but your skin will need to be treated every 1 to 2 years to ensure lasting results. On average, clients want to come back in at 12 months for a maintenance treatment. Since collagen and elastin fibers become thinner and looser as we age, your skin will naturally lose elasticity and will become more prone to additional wrinkles and sagging with time. Therefore, annual maintenance treatments are needed to sustain ongoing collagen production.
